Children and families

In the museum gallery there are:

  • Hands-on interactive exhibits;
  • Historical costumes to try on;
  • History and archaeology books to browse;
  • Colouring sheets linked with the displayed finds;
  • Explorer resources to help young children take a closer look at the museum;
  • Seaside toys and natural resources to investigate, linked with the 'At the Beach' exhibition.

The Art Gallery regularly has art books to look at, and there are two print display cases for visitors to browse through, containing delicate objects such as watercolours, prints and photographs.

You can also borrow binoculars from the first floor reception, to view Beverley and the surrounding area from the tower.

A programme of family-friendly workshops is run at the Treasure House throughout the year. For more information on this year’s workshops go to the Learning at the Treasure House page.

Alternatively, for an overview of the forthcoming events that are suitable for children and families at all sites visit the forthcoming events page and select 'Events Children and families' as the category.

You can also search, book and pay for events online.
