Volunteer Under 5s Facilitators

The perfect opportunity for anyone aged 18+ who enjoys working with young children and has an interest in history. We need volunteers to facilitate our Sewerby Squirrels sessions, which take part on Monday mornings during East Riding term times. These sessions link with themes such as Edwardian life, Amy Johnson, gardens and the sea. No qualifications or prior experience necessary - but enthusiasm is a must!

Learning and Interpretation Volunteers

If you are interested in history, meeting people and working with children and families then this could be for you. Dressed in period costume our Learning and Interpretation Volunteers help the public understand Sewerby Hall  a little better, as well as with our programme of family activities and with visiting school groups.

Engagement Volunteers

If you like games, chatting and making people feel at home then this volunteer opportunity could be the one for you. This year Sewerby Hall is launching the Monday Evergreen Afternoons. This will be an opportunity for visitors to relax in the wonderful surroundings of the Sewerby Hall Orangery, perhaps with a cup of tea or coffee and play some traditional games. We are seeking volunteers who will help people feel at home, encourage conversation and be prepared to make up the numbers for playing games.

Costume Volunteers

Are you good with a needle and thread? Do you enjoy sewing and making costumes? We are looking for volunteers to help us create costumes for Sewerby Hall for use by interpreters, the public, of all ages, as well as visiting school children. The aim is to create costumes that reflect aspects of the long history of Sewerby Hall. This will be a front of house role, based  in the Orangery every Monday throughout the summer.
