Children and families

There is plenty for families and children to do in Sewerby Hall, from colouring in, dressing up as the servants, playing with the toys in the Nursery or just reading a book and relaxing in the study on the first floor. The new interactive displays and different trails round the hall are fun for all the family.

A series of colouring sheets is available to download by clicking on the links below.

Under 5s

There is plenty for even our youngest visitors to enjoy, including:

  • Explorer Kits to help children take a closer look at the museum (term time only);
  • 'Sewerby Squirrel Finds' cards in the period rooms, featuring an object to spot, a song to sing, and a pattern to find;
  • Hands-on exhibitions in the Servants Quarters, with objects to investigate;
  • Activities in both the permanent Amy Johnson exhibition and every temporary exhibition.

Please see the main Sewerby Hall website to find out more about forthcoming initiatives for under-5s:
