How to borrow a box

Handling boxes are available for loan by schools for pre-set periods of two to three weeks. Where possible loans can be extended for a second consecutive period.

This service currently under-going redevelopment. See redevelopment of handling boxes for more information. The service is therefore currently free of charge until boxes are redeveloped.

Unfortunately it is not possible to extend loan periods for new boxes on pilot phase. After the completion of the pilot phase of redeveloped boxes a loan charge will be reinstated. Old boxes will continue to be loaned free of charge until they have been redeveloped.

Loans must be booked in advance. They should be collected from and returned to the Treasure House, by the borrower, within the loan period. Borrowers undertake to adhere to the conditions of loan and take due care of the objects when they sign a Museum Education Loan Agreement.

For enquiries and bookings please get in touch with the Treasure House reception using the contact details available here. Borrowers will be given information about parking and collections times when they make their booking.
