Location

Goole Museum is located above the Goole Library, Carlisle Street, Goole, DN14 5DS The library building faces the Clock Tower roundabout, and the museum is on the first floor.

The museum is five minutes walk down Boothferry Road from the railway station, 3 minutes walk from the bus station in North Street.

Lunchtime closing is 12.00-12.30 (1.30-2.00pm on Wednesdays)

Closed on bank holidays including Christmas and New Year, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Admission

Free of charge.

Car parking

Free car parking is currently available outside the Leisure Centre in North Street, or next to the Library in Estcourt Street.

Disability access

The museum itself is located on the first floor above Goole Library, but there is access by lift from the ground floor lobby. The toilet, which is suitable for wheelchair users, is next to the lift exit upstairs. There is disabled access to all areas of the museum.

Facilities

Toilets are available, and there is a sales point where you can purchase souvenir Goole mugs, magnets, books and postcards. Visitors may also order copy photographs from the museum collection and photographic reproductions of the paintings. Free information sheets are available on aspects of the collections.

Activities for children

There are plenty of fun hands-on activities and a nature trail round the gallery. For very young children there is a basket of traditional toys and a floor puzzle to enjoy. More information can be found by going to the Children and Families page.
