Put on a display

At the Treasure House and Art Gallery it is possible for individuals or groups to apply to put on a display.

All applications are considered by an Exhibitions Panel, which consists of several of the curators from the East Riding Museums Service. This is part of a wider exhibitions team who ensure that the programme of exhibitions across the East Riding museums is consistent with the Museums Service's remit.

Museum at the Treasure House

Part of the remit of the Treasure House temporary exhibition programme is to display exhibitions from community groups around the East Riding. The programme is usually booked at least 12-18 months in advance and all exhibitions must be relevant to the East Riding.

When considering whether to submit an exhibition proposal, it is essential to visit the gallery first to ensure that your exhibition is suitable for the space. It is important to note the size of the space, the need for high quality images (particularly for the large images that go in the cafe area), and the need for objects to fill the display cabinets.

If you would like apply to put on a display in this gallery the following document can be downloaded, and either emailed or posted back to the Treasure House curator using contact details on the contact us page.

Smaller displays can occasionally be put on in the library corridor of the Treasure House, in which case you should still complete the above form for consideration by the Exhibitions Panel, making it clear that you are proposing a library corridor display. The following downloadable document explains the remit and requirements for a library corridor display.

Beverley Art Gallery

Openings occasionally arise for artists or groups with a significant collection of works to put on an exhibition in the temporary exhibition gallery. If you think your work is of a quantity and standard to qualify for an Art Gallery exhibition you should complete the following downloadable document and either email or post it back to the Art Gallery (Exhibitions) curator using one of the methods on the contact us page. If possible, examples of the work to be shown should be included with the application.
