Getting involved

If you are particularly interested in the work of the museums, or are looking for a career in museums yourself you may like to get involved at one or more of our museum sites.

Several of the museums have volunteer teams that you can join, and there is also a Friends group at Beverley Art Gallery.

Alternatively, you may have a community or art group who would be interested in putting on a display at one of the museums.

Follow the links to the left to find out more about any of these ways of getting involved.

Current project

Curators at the Treasure House, who are working in partnership with the William Wilberforce Monument Fund, are currently seeking help with an exhibition that is due to go on display in May 2018: "Our Histories Revealed - Africans in Hull and East Yorkshire". The aim of the project is to uncover the history of people of African descent from 1750 to 2007.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone with a family history or photograph, or if you know of anyone of African heritage who is interested in sharing their story. Such stories might feature in our exhibition.

Further information is available in this downloadable leaflet:
