Activities in the museums

All of the East Riding museums have activities for children, which may be in the form of interactives (such as flour grinding at Skidby Mill) or activity sheets (such as 'Find the Pieces' at Beverley Guildhall). Visit the children and families pages at the relevant site to find out more about what is available.

5 things to discover

Discover history on your doorstep with the ‘5 Things’ challenge!

Throughout the summer holidays 2016, The Treasure House and Sewerby Hall and Gardens are rolling out an initiative encouraging the exploration and discovery of museums.

We’ve got suggestions of ‘5 Things to Discover’, especially for younger children and families.

Share photos of your #Humber5Things on Twitter and Facebook, and, most importantly, collect your ‘5 Things’ sticker on your way out.

And, if you really enjoy your visit, why not create your own ‘5 Things’ next time?

East Riding Museums have created the ‘5 Things to Discover’ campaign in collaboration with Hull Museums and North Lincolnshire Museums. If you find yourself travelling more widely across the Humber region, why not visit and take part in their ‘5 Things’?

Family-friendly workshops

Family-friendly workshops, as well as additional open days and activities, are run by all of the East Riding museums.

If you are interested in the events at a particular museum, visit the Events page for the relevant museum site and select the 'Events Children and families' as the category.

Alternatively, for an overview of the forthcoming events that are suitable for children and families at all sites visit the forthcoming events page and select the 'Events Children and families' as the category.

You can also search, book and pay for events online.
